Ozaukee County offers the rural charm of Fredonia and Waubeka, 25 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, and two of the oldest and most charming communities in the region - Port Washington and Cedarburg. Both attract thousands of tourists every year, Port Washington for its Fish Day celebration of the city's maritime history, and Cedarburg for its annual Strawberry Festival. The county also is home to Concordia University and the north campus of the Milwaukee Area Technical College. Major outdoor attractions include the Port Washington Marina, Harrington Beach State Park, and the Ozaukee Interurban Trail, a 30-mile paved path that spans the entire length of Ozaukee County.

  1. Ozaukee County covers 233 square miles of land making it the second smallest county in Wisconsin by land area. The county’s jurisdiction also extends over 883 square miles of water, most of which is in Lake Michigan.

In 2021 and 2022, Ozaukee County was ranked #1 as the healthiest county in Wisconsin based on a study from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson foundation.
